1. Licence

Reclaim is an app blocker. The app is licensed, not sold, to you. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy (except as Google Play allows), modify, reverse-engineer, resell, sublicense, or redistribute the app, except where applicable law expressly permits it.

The app, this website, the Reclaim name, logo, and design remain our property or that of our licensors.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the app, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

3. How blocking works, and its limits

Blocking relies on Android's Accessibility service, which you enable yourself in your device settings, and, optionally, on Usage access. Reclaim cannot block anything while the Accessibility service is turned off, and Android or your device manufacturer may stop, restrict, or delay the service — for example through battery optimisation, a system update, or a restart.

Reclaim is designed as a pause, not a lock: you can always skip the pause screen or wait it out. We do not guarantee that every guarded app will be intercepted every time, or that usage figures and statistics are complete or exact. They depend on data Android provides and on your device's clock and settings.

4. Your data

Your schedules, guarded apps, settings, and statistics are stored only on your device. There is no account and no cloud sync; see our Privacy Policy. Because we never receive this data, we cannot recover it if you uninstall the app, clear its storage, or switch devices.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the app or website to violate any law, and do not try to disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to, the app, the website, or our systems.

6. No professional advice

Reclaim is a personal tool for managing how you use your phone. It does not provide medical, therapeutic, or other professional advice. If your phone use is causing you serious distress, please talk to a qualified professional.

7. Warranty and liability

If you are a consumer, your statutory warranty rights for digital products apply.

We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz), and where we have given a guarantee. For slight negligence, we are liable only if we breach an essential contractual obligation, meaning one that must be fulfilled for the contract to be properly performed and that you can regularly rely on. In that case, our liability is limited to the damage that is foreseeable and typical for this type of contract. Otherwise, we are not liable for slight negligence.

8. Changes to the app and these terms

We may update the app to fix bugs, improve features, or comply with legal and store requirements.

We may update these terms, for example when features or legal requirements change. Changes apply from the date shown under "Last updated". If a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the app or on this website before it takes effect.

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. If we discontinue the app, we will give reasonable notice where possible.

9. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you habitually reside.

If you are a merchant (Kaufmann), a legal entity under public law, or have no general place of jurisdiction in Germany, the courts of Berlin, Germany have exclusive jurisdiction. Consumers may bring proceedings in the courts that have jurisdiction under the law.

We are not obliged and not willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (Verbraucherschlichtungsstelle).

10. Final provisions

If any provision of these terms is or becomes invalid, the remaining provisions stay in effect. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Google Play terms, form the entire agreement between you and us regarding the app.
